HOW TO CONTROL THE SPEED



TITLE: CIRCUIT TO CONTROL THE SPEED OF 12V DC MOTOR.

OBJECTIVE: TO FIND SUITABLE CIRCUIT IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE SPEED OF THE MOTOR.

CONTENT:

Since when i connect the motor to the battery, the motor speed is too fast.
It is not stable as my scooter is small. it is not safe.Thus i need to find a controller to control the speed.It was found that the best controller for the DC motor is said using PWM. here link which hepls in understanding the PWM DC Motor controller crcuit.

what means by PWM?

Pulse-width modulation (PWM) of a signal or power source involves the modulation of its duty cycle, to either convey information over a communications channel or control the amount of power sent to a load.

The PWM pulses are fed to the gate of a mosfet which reacts and controls the connected motor current in response to the setting of the pot.The current level through the motor decides it speed and thus implements the controlling effect via the pot.

CONCLUSION: Need to find suitable PWM DC motor speed controller.
